Taapsee Pannu (born August 1, 1988) is an Indian model-turned-film actress. An ethnic Punjabi, she was a software engineer before pursuing modelling which eventually led her to acting.[1] Appearing in several commercials, Taapsee also won Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face and Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin, during her modelling days.[2] She made her acting debut in 2010 with K. Raghavendra Rao's romantic-musical Jhummandi Naadam.[3] Later, she made her Tamil debut with Aadukalam. She made her foray into Malayalam cinema with Doubles, starring opposite Mammootty,[4] and has since signed half-a-dozen films in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam-languages.The story is based on cockfights which are a craze in the suburbs of chennai. Pettaikaran (Jayabalan) and Rathnasamy (Nareyn), a cop, are rivals in these fights. Pettaikaran has always defeated Rathnasamy in all matches between them. Karuppu (Dhanush) and Durai (Kishore) are also in Pettaikaran's team. Rathnasamy keeps insisting on having one last fight to win and satisfy his old mother’s wish but Pettaikaran declines to have any more fights with him because he feels Rathnasamy has lost faith in his cocks and will be using nefarious methods to win. Rathnasamy keeps insisting and tries to make him accept the challenge through cajoling, threatening, bribing and other vile acts.
