The girl from Pune, who scored big time playing Shakthi, the girl-next- door, is now going for a total makeover in her new release Madurai Sambavam. In the film, she plays Caroline, the hot and happening girl with an attitude. The buzz is that Anuya has done some hot bedroom scenes in the film, which carries an ‘A’ certificate. In an exclusive interview to CT, Anuya gushed about Tamil cinema and said, “I got an opportunity to play the soft, demure Sakthi of SMS and at the same time, do a daring hot siren like Caroline of Madurai Sambavam. I’m excited as the film is a mixture of realism and commercial mass masala.”
The film, she says, is about the travails of a young man, played by choreographer-turned-hero Hari Kumar, and a bold girl who are on the run and who meet on the mean streets of Madurai, where a twist takes place. Says Anuya, “I’m glad I accepted the role on the recommendation of producers Suresh Balaji and George Pious after hearing the script from director Yurekha.”
